Our rubber Pads are made up by manufacturing a steel backing plate of various sizes and thickness some up to 15 mm thick depending on machine size and application.
The plates are drilled and then have bolts fitted and welded, they are then heat treated to the OEM specifications, the plates are then sand blasted. Each plate is tested and inspected individually for any defects . After completing testing they are then dipped into a rubber and chemical solution to aid in bonding, this last step is often missed out by many manufactures to reduce cost ,the dipping process is needed to aid in the elimination of pads separating from the backing plate.
The plates are then placed into a heating press, and the rubber sheets to be used are placed on to the backing plate it is then pressed and heated for approximately 45 minutes bonding and shaping the pad to the backing plate.
Track Pad Rubber Compound
The rubber used in manufacture is a high blend of natural rubbers and synthetics, the use of synthetics in the blend allows the pad to be made harder to give maximum wear life it is critical that the correct amount of synthetic is added, if too much is used the pad would crack or split, the natural rubber allows the pad to be soft enough to give great traction and reduce vibration with out the synthetics the pad would wear away quickly.
Only with the use of skilled technicians high quality ingredients and exhaustive testing can a pad of this quality be made, you can not cost cut.
